INTERIOR DESIGN TIPS INSTALMENT #1

"During lockdown, unlike ever before we have spent more time in our homes, living, working and relaxing. Now as we slowly come out of the lockdown and back into the ‘real world’ we can use this new knowledge to design and refresh our homes". Natalie Cencelli, Director, Mood London Ltd

Mood London is a innovative and dynamic interior architecture and design studio focused on creating beautiful and timeless designs.

1. Re-Position
Think about how you have used the space while you have been at home? What changes would you make? Try sketching out one of your rooms with a completely different furniture layout or if you are not confident using paper  - try positioning your furniture in completely different areas of the room.

2. Go Auction Hunting
Look on Auction sites for good deals as with everyone being at home there is now much more stock and variety than ever before.

3. Invest in the Finishing Touches
If you are going to be working from home more and doing remote meetings, it is a good time to invest in a piece of art or tidy and ‘style’ your bookcase with accessories, plants and books, that will not only look good for the meetings, but also make you feel good as you spend more time in these spaces

4. Be Bold with Colour
Now more than ever designers are utilising colours on areas of the house that are not traditionally painted. For instance using bright colours on a ceiling in the hallway or bedroom can instantly update a room.
