Jaie Elliott Johnson Miller

Photographer (n/a )

Jaie Miller, born in London in 1987, discovered his passion for photography after watching the film 'City of God' directed by Fernando Meirelles in 2005. Inspired by the protagonist's trials and ultimate escape, Jaie picked up a Nikon FE and began shooting everything in black and white Ilford 400 film. He travelled to Paris, Berlin, and New York over the coming years, using his camera as a constant companion.

After years of being self-taught in analogue photography, Jaie decided to make photography his main focus. He is inspired by different film types, cameras, and settings, and enjoys the challenge that each brings. He believes that the imagination of the camera is greater than that of any photographer, and it is precisely this challenge that drives him to create unique and compelling images.

Jaie's inspiration comes from Beat and Surreal poets such as Andre Breton, Tristan Tzara, and Gregory Corso. He aims to capture the epic of the everyday through his photography, seeking to bring to light the tricks concealed within each scene. To him, photography is about drawing with light, and he likes to feel that he is withdrawing light and revealing the hidden beauty in each moment.

Jaie was a member of The British Institute of Professional Photographers from 2015 to 2017, and his work has been featured in various exhibitions and publications. He continues to pursue his passion for photography and looks forward to capturing more of life's unforgettable moments through his lens.
