This painting is inspired by a still from "Normal People", a series I started watching during lockdown. My intention is for the painting to read like cinematic transition, with the impression that the scene is about to begin any second. By creating the sense of activity that is about to happen my aim is to invite the viewer to form their own narrative possibilities from the clues left behind.
