Anna Elizabeth
I am an artist with an interest in portraiture of Japanese girls, self reflection and also individuals that inspire me. I also love drawing and can't stress the importance drawing plays in my work. When I paint tend to use baby and pastel colours in line with my obsession for Japanese youth culture and femininity. My love for this subject came to me during the final year of my degree when I came across hurdles in my life that made me stop and look at myself, and found something I fell in love with. My work is very personal and often when I am sat painting I feel like I am looking in a mirror.
I'm not entirely sure if my paintings are self portraits, alter ego's, a part of me, a part of something I want to be. All I know is when I'm painting I am completely obsessed with the girl I am painting, her looks and thoughts.
