‘The Romance of the Exotic’ Collection:

“With the new decade, Laura H Elliott welcomes and introduces DegreeArt collectors to a fresh new chapter in her of work called ‘The Romance of the Exotic’. 

This new collection of artworks merge landscapes, animals and insects, playing with cubism, abstraction and a touch of surrealism, constructing a refreshing new artworks. This series is in constant development, from Laura’s continual exploration of  the inspirations and ideologies in master artists such as Picasso, drawing from emotions and her subconscious, therefore, the collection is forever changing. This constant progression adds a new energetic, vibrant mixture into each new artwork.

Within each artwork, Laura includes a feminine touch in the form of butterflies, symbolising change, adaption and evolution, representing her constant progression as an artist. The animals and insects featured in each artwork are carefully selected to merge with the cubist landscapes that surround them. The mediums used within these artworks include: acrylic paint, photographs, ink, graphite and texture mediums. 

About Laura H Elliott BA (Hons):

Since 1994, Laura has exhibited widely in the U.K., Europe and the US, including and her first solo exhibition in 2008, she subsequently completed her Art and Media BA with Honours in 2009 with a hugely successful group exhibition at the Royal College of Arts in 2015. It was in 2013 that her work began to be represented by Degree Art Gallery, taking a new step in her career and her work is collected and commissioned worldwide. Laura feels that the creation of her art is a part of who she is, a part of her identity.”
