Rory began his career lecturing in art history but a period of serious ill health changed his creative path and career path.

Now focusing on making art which incorporates his song lyrics and poetry,
Rory describes his style as urban expressionism. His original artworks use ink, acrylic, digital collage & photography and many feature song titles and fragments of poems as part of their composition.

There is a strong visual identity to the work, which often draws on images of themid 20th century, and many of which tell emotional stories .
