As part of the Moon series , inspired by a poem I wrote: To the underdog moon I have a love for the underdog, the quiet force, the steady slog, the one who rises through the doubt, whose light is soft but never out. And so, I see the moon this way, a silver soul in muted grey, half in shadow, half in glow, the silent one who steals the show. The sun, it rules the world with fire, demands the sky, commands, inspires, but moonlight whispers, cool and deep, a silver secret lovers keep. It does not blind, nor burn, nor boast, yet guides the lost, protects the coast. It bends the tides, it shapes the seas, it dances shy behind the trees. A patient watcher, calm and wise, it does not need the midday skies. It waits for darkness, waits for need, and gives us light, though it must bleed. For though the sun may take its shine, the moon still rises, pale, divine. And like the ones the world ignores, it finds its way, it fights for more. So here’s to those who stand apart, who glow with quiet, fearless heart. The underdogs, the ones who know— it’s in the dark that we must glow.
