Join artist Rod McIntosh for a mindfulness and ink painting workshop. Learn directly from the artist about his unique process of painting.

On Wednesday 11th December, Contemporary Collective and Bankside Hotel are delighted to be hosting a day-long conference open to artists and those interested in all things ink. Rod McIntosh and a curated group of 6 artists who work with ink, will share their passion and skills in working with the medium.

The day will commence with an open introduction among the artists and audience on ink as a medium, followed by a Q&A. After an artistically curated three course lunch at Bankside’s ArtYard*, experience an artist-led demonstration and workshop. The day will conclude with an ink themed cocktail (option for either alcoholic and non-alcoholic) drink with all of the participating artists.

Rod McIntosh is part of an ever-changing programme of makers in residence at Bankside Hotel’s makers studio. Bankside provides a permanent creative space and working with curators Contemporary Collective champion up-and-coming creatives, covering a wide range of disciplines including design, painting, sculpture, film, drawing, printmaking, installation, new media and photography. During his stay, Bankside guests are able to watch artists practice their creative expertise and so be taken on an informative and artistic journey. Tickets include a coffee, three-course lunch and cocktail.

Schedule:

11-11.30am: Introduction and coffee served in the Artist studio

11.30am - 1pm: Artist demonstrations

1-2pm: Ink inspired three course lunch at ArtYard

2-3pm: Artist demonstrations

3pm - 5pm: Ink workshop led by Rod McIntosh and Bridget Davies

5-6pm: Ink inspired cocktail hour (One drink included in the ticket price) with live figure drawing by Bridget Davies in the ArtYard Bar.
