Zoe Beaumont
Zoe Beaumont is an artist, mother, wife, daughter and friend but not in that order. As women we play many roles to many people. The role of ‘artist’ is both a choice and a passion. With a background in art education BA Textile Print Design and a successful career within fashion/interior styling/store design for a list of much-loved brands, the role of professional artist has been evolving gradually over a period of time.
Birthed from a challenging dark period that is intrinsically linked to womanhood, the practise of art therapy became a beacon of light to navigate towards brighter times. Unaware that dusting off her paintbrushes and putting paint to canvas could be so remedial and regenerative, Zoe healed through painting. Creating abstract pieces that enabled a form of self-expression. Now in brighter times the cathartic experience has led Zoe to her role as a full time Artist.
‘Creating emotional connections through a visual story.’ Zoe’s work is informed and inspired by a combination of the natural world and urban landscapes, couture fashion design and street style, interior design statements and a spectrum of classical and contemporary artists. The different textures and natural mark makings seen in the everyday are of great influence. Using a mixed media approach of acrylic, emulsion, pastels and ink on canvas and she creates bold and contemporary abstract imagery. Colour balance, texture and explorative mark making are key characteristics that help shape each piece. With a background in interior design and styling, careful consideration for the environment in which the artwork will belong is important to the artist.
Zoe offers a bespoke commission service in which meaningful details relating to the client can be captured and hidden within the abstract artwork, so as to create a both visually beautiful and deeply personal piece. Working with the client, Zoe can create a custom colour palette and design brief, this enables a curated approach to the artwork so it can hang perfectly and harmoniously in its surroundings.
