The complexity of how we store our experiences and how they manifest themselves in our decisions prescribes who we are today. The past is never forgotten but stored only to emerge later, not always intact but fragmented. The past haunts, confuses and distorts our view of present.

I try to disturb and distort the image by the use of encaustic paint, which creates a semi-transparent layer and penetrates to the layers underneath, revealing and bringing into focus what is stored, but only in fragments.   I use English and Urdu alphabets and words to connect with my hybrid identity.
