We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the most talented Joshua Donkor on the opening of his thought-provoking solo exhibition, ‘I Have More Souls Than One,’ at the prestigious Holburne Museum in Bath.
This remarkable showcase, which debuted to a packed house last night (Thursday 23rd January, 2025) , is a profound exploration of themes such as identity, culture, and belonging. Through an innovative fusion of photography, ephemera, and masterful painting techniques, Joshua has created a body of work that is as visually stunning as it is intellectually stimulating.
The exhibition not only captivated the audience but also sparked meaningful conversations about the complexities of personal and collective identities. Visitors were immersed in the depth of Joshua’s artistry, each piece inviting reflection and connection.
Adding to the richness of the experience, the Holburne Museum is also presenting ‘Iconic’ in an adjoining gallery. This complementary exhibition features works by legendary artists such as Andy Warhol, Francis Bacon, Walter Sickert, and Peter Blake, among others. Garnering a glowing 5-star review from The Guardian, ‘Iconic’ offers an incredible contrast and dialogue with Joshua’s contemporary pieces. The curatorial vision for both exhibitions was expertly overseen by gallery director Chris Stephens, whose leadership and dedication, along with the hard work of the entire Holburne Museum team, have made these shows truly exceptional.
After an inspiring day at the museum, we had the pleasure of indulging in a delicious meal at the nearby The Bird Bath, rounding off what was nothing short of a perfect celebration of art and creativity.
