Pioneering women’s fashion label Eileen Fisher and Contemporary Collective are proud to announce their upcoming collaboration, in celebration of the culture and creativity of the legendary London borough of Kensington and Chelsea, during Kensington and Chelsea Art Week. The partnership is the first of its kind for the KCAW weekend.
“We are delighted with the Contemporary Collective art project connecting art and fashion in the heart of the high street. KCAW support this initiative - offering artists a bigger platform across local venues and stores in the borough in form of ‘an art exchange” - says KCAW director Vestalia Chilton.
Fashion has a longstanding history of artistic collaboration and creative discourse. Contemporary Collective + Eileen Fisher will join this conversation, mixing art and fashion with an exhibition of new works by UK painter Sophie Derrick. Artworks will be displayed at Eileen Fisher, located on the iconic Kings Road, from the 27th - 30th June 2019.
Derrick emerged onto the art scene in 2012 after completing her Fine Art MA at Wimbledon College of Art, London; she has since exhibited widely both in the UK and internationally and acquired a strong network of global collectors. Derrick has appeared on the BBC’s ‘Women in Art’, exhibited at The Royal Academy of Arts, London, and been shortlisted for the BP Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery.
For the last 30 years, Eileen Fisher has been creating purposeful, sustainable and simplistic clothing designed to last women a lifetime. Eileen Fisher is committed to changing women’s lives and the clothing industry.
