This print is made by taking an impression from the surface of a John Dory. Acrylic ink is applied to the surface of the fish and then a sheet of Chinese paper has been hand pressed over the fish. The resulting impression is quite wrinkled. An eye is then hand painted on and then process of backing the print to make it stronger and flat can begin. For this I use the Urauchi method with a home made glue of flour and water and a sheet of masa paper which is bonded to the back of the print.
