"Metamorphosis reflects her memories of childhood surgeries and the long process of recovery. She views the scars left by regeneration not as flaws but as a vital phase of metamorphosis—necessary for both physical and mental growth. Her work seeks to capture the resilience of life as it endures struggles, adapts, and leaves traces of survival. She draws inspiration from artificial objects that have sunk to the ocean floor, gradually becoming encrusted with marine organisms, proliferating unpredictably, and ultimately transforming into new ecosystems. In this project, she incorporates their vivid colors and organic forms into objects—lighting—that glow and evolve like living beings, symbolizing transformation and renewal. Through this work, Roh highlights the beauty of self-sustaining recovery while offering a positive outlook on physical and mental growth. Her creative process itself becomes a means of healing, embracing the unpredictable beauty of recovery and the coexistence of imperfection and potential."
