Unframed Futures: Celebrating Our October Residency & Pathways for Emerging Artists

As you know, we believe in the power of creative ecosystems – those networks of care, opportunity, and collaboration that allow artists to flourish. That’s why we are immensely proud to partner with Artists Futures Fund and Bankside Hotel in curating Unframed Futures, a residency and showcase that uplifts emerging voices and explores new pathways forward in contemporary art.

A Residency with Purpose:
From 10th to 30th October 2025, Art Yard Studio at Bankside Hotel will be transformed into a dynamic hub for artistic experimentation and community. Under the banner Unframed Futures, Fellows of the Artists Futures Fund (Niamh Tam, Lily Rees, Lauren Pitson, Dale Hardy, Mia Roberts) will immerse themselves in a professional studio environment, producing work across painting, sculpture, mixed media, and photography. This residency is more than a studio moment; it’s a celebration of process, a platform for visibility, and a moment of exchange with the local Bankside community. Co-curated by Contemporary Collective and curator Hannah Wallis, it reflects our shared commitment to championing artists who face structural, socio-economic, and health barriers in their practice.

Opening Night & Artist Panel: Building Pathways:
The opening night reception on 9th October marks the launch of the residency, followed by a timely and critical artist panel on 10th October: “The Art of Opportunity: Building Pathways in the Arts.” In this discussion, Turner Prize 2024 winner Jasleen Kaur will join fellow panellists DA Gallery represented Joshua Donkor and Amrita Dhallu, chaired by Hannah Wallis, to interrogate how artists access, sustain, and shape support throughout their careers. Together, they will explore collective models of care, equitable structures in the art world, and the role of partnerships like ours in building sustainable trajectories for emerging voices. Jasleen Kaur’s interdisciplinary practice – spanning sculpture, sound, and installation – brings a profound lens on histories both inherited and reimagined. Her contributions will no doubt elevate the conversation about how we, as cultural organisations, can respond to change, equity, and inclusion in real and meaningful ways.

For audiences, collectors, and art lovers, this residency is a rare opportunity to observe works in progress, meet the creators, and trace how ideas evolve in real time. It’s a chance to witness the narrative behind each artwork, to engage with emerging voices before they find broader stages.
