The dancer persists in her training. The tear she sheds is testament to her intense dedication, but despite her exhaustion she wears it with pride and a subtle smile of satisfaction, for she feeds this core emotion into her dance, using it to push herself further. While in the zone she may be isolated and alone, but she feels the full peak of her creative possibilities and in this dedication feels like she could reach for the sky. In creating this artwork, I dove deep into the realm of expressionism, marrying it with semi-abstract elements. I chose acrylics, stencil, and ink to bring alive the tumultuous energy and vibrant cascade of emotions. The dynamic strokes and luminescent dots echo the dance of shadows and light, symbolizing the perpetual motion and transformation within the subject.
