Since gaining my 1st degree in Art, I have been steadily painting, showing and selling my pieces in various galleries and art fairs both in London and nationally.
I am a descendent of the artist "John Constable" although my painting style is quite different, less classical though still figurative and more influenced by French Impressionism, Degas, Monet and Cezanne in particular.
I am currently living in London, and I have a studio in my Victorian house, where I create all my paintings. My work is usually inspired by beautiful places I have visited and interesting faces I have observed.
I paint on location, from my own photography and also from instinct and experience. Both my visual concept of the world we live in, and also from keen observation. I consider that I have a well developed eye for beauty, atmosphere and character. That is in both form and colour, and to convey this through my use of paint.
I am about to embark on an inspirational painting trip to the wonderful, colourful and wild isle of Corfu, Greece. My intention is to then create a new collection of paintings based on drawings and photographs I have completed in situ.
