My artwork combines the disciplines of fine art and illustration to produce constructions that are a personal response to narrative text. Discovering the artwork of Joseph Cornell some years ago, I became excited by the possibility of creating artwork within found objects and after studying illustration, using a story as a starting point seemed like a logical step. Influenced by Pop Surrealism as well as contemporary illustration, my aim is to produce playful artwork based on adult themes, utilising the object as an artistic environment.

I am particularly interested in adding extra dimensions to my work such as sound and movement which I feel adds to the viewers experience. In my future works I would love to develop this further especially mixing together art and automata.
