Our artist Cody Choi was recently featured by Leica Fotografie International to tell the story behind his photograph, touching upon the difficulty to be a creative in the midst of a pandemic, as well as his life-long passion for dance.

The work featured in this article is part of his Resilience series, which explores our experience of the pandemic through the following question: "While you are isolated from the rest of the world, what is the one thing that keeps you going? In the past months, we have been asked to give up a lot of things in our lives: our jobs, relationships, homes, or even dreams. While we are choosing which to let go one by one, what is the one last thing you always hold tight?". For Cody, the answer is found at the core of his practice, and life story: dance. While he started his creative path as a dancer, touring and dancing around the world, Cody Choi builds upon his experience to immerse himself into intimate visual dialogues with dancers, and their bodies in movement as they perform carefully crafted choreographies.
