Linda Clerget
In my artistic universe, the charm of "la dolce vita" merges seamlessly with French elegance. Inspired by my travels across France and the poetry of everyday life, I practice both oil painting and gouache, exploring the dynamic interplay of color and texture to capture the essence of my surroundings.
Having exhibited in New York, Paris, and London, I encourage the contemplation of the beauty that surrounds us through my colorful and dynamic compositions. My philosophy is encapsulated in the belief that we travel to better understand ourselves, to survive inner turmoil, and to heal through shared laughter and experiences.
Born in 1985 in Paris, I was captivated by the vibrant energy of the city's streets. However, it is in nature, particularly in my family’s countryside home near Fontainebleau, where my soul truly finds refuge. This duality between the bustling city and serene nature profoundly influences my work.
My passion for culture and creativity led me to spend my youth immersed in books and museums, and later, as a journalist, I traveled extensively to discover new people and places. However, the need for personal creation and introspection eventually guided me towards an artistic career.
After exploring various forms of expression, including photography, writing, and music, I found my true fulfillment in painting. This medium allows me to fully express my love for color, texture, and drawing. My formal education began at the Terre et Feu School in Paris and was enriched by the teachings of American Impressionist masters like Ben Fenske. These experiences helped me blend traditional impressionist techniques with a modern interpretation, creating a unique and personal style.
As a traveler at heart, I now explore France, seeking picturesque natural treasures that serve as the starting points for my landscapes. I see these landscapes as open doors to fantastical and sensory worlds, inviting viewers to embark on their own personal dream journeys.
Currently, I pursue my passion from my home studio in Thomery, near the forest of Fontainebleau, a village that once hosted the esteemed artist Rosa Bonheur. From this serene setting, I aim to present a modern and poetic approach to painting. My work regularly features in exhibitions in London and Paris, where I share my love for art with a broader audience.
My journey as an artist is one of continuous discovery, driven by a deep passion for capturing the fleeting beauty of nature and life. I am committed to evolving both personally and artistically, and I eagerly anticipate the new horizons that await me.
