Clare Shrouder

Other (BA(Hons) Illustration , 2004)

My artwork combines the disciplines of fine art and illustration to produce constructions that are a personal response to narrative text. Discovering the artwork of Joseph Cornell some years ago, I became excited by the possibility of creating artwork within found objects and after studying illustration, using a story as a starting point seemed like a logical step. Influenced by Pop Surrealism as well as contemporary illustration, my aim is to produce playful artwork based on adult themes, utilising the object as an artistic environment.

Fiona Biziou

Academie de Lei in Leuvan (Diploma in Fine Art , 2012)

I studied fashion design in London painting and designing silk dresses in translucent swirling colours as well as designing wedding dresses.

On moving to Belgium I studied Art at the BKO Academie and also at the Academie de Lei in Leuvan where I gained a Diploma in Fine Art. On moving to France I continued painting and sculpting in clay often working from a life model. I like to work spontaneously expressing free flowing emotions movement and sensitivity  using large brush strokes, colours intermingling to  intuitively saturate the canvas.

Sarah Ann Mitchell

Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (Fine Art , 2003)

My practice is concerned with how we experience space, the psychology of urban landscape, and the personification of architectural space.

My recent work considers the relationship between filmic stills and memory. I am interested in the idea of the city as text to be read and interpreted, containing many layers of meaning. I am concerned with the psychology of space in terms of one of projection. I use images of the mundane to suggest psychological presence, and am interested in how such space can be a way to re engage with the familiar.

Phil Davis

Loughborough University (BA Fine Art/Sculpture , 2004)

Phil Davis produces landscapes and figurative subjects that use a combination of rich and vivid colours with additional features of the subjects incorporated using hand made stencils. This style is a constant blending and morphing of two processes, a combination that produces dynamic and emotionally heightened images where creative instinct and the fine detail of his chosen subjects are portrayed and juxtaposed alongside each other.

Joohee Chun

Winchester School of Art (MA Painting, 2008 , 2011)

In my paintings I primarily aim at projecting my innermost feelings and thoughts onto the canvas so as to create an 'affect' without the need for words.

My works develop through spontaneous and spiritual reactions to the physicality of the materials and previous layers. By following my intuition, each layer forming the composition acts as a metaphor for personality and inner emotions. I contain and seal my feelings and thoughts in the layers of my paintings.

Anna Rothwell

University of Wales Institute Cardiff (Ceramics , 2010)

Through courses at Stafford and Cardiff University, Anna Rothwell developed an interest in expressing her ideas through the use of the human form as a Figurative Sculptor. Her sculptures vary from detailed realism, to more abstract pieces capturing movement. Both seek to show human emotion and feelings through the body language they exhibit. She aims to encourage viewers to empathize with her work, evoking perhaps memories or emotions they too have experienced.
