Andrew Farmer

The Prince's Drawing School ('The Drawing Year' , 2009)
Andrew was born in 1985 in South Yorkshire, he studied Fine Art Painting at the University of Canterbury Christ Church (2005-2008), followed by ‘The Drawing Year’ at the Royal Drawing school, London (2008-2009). Painting primarily in oils Andrew tackles a range of subjects including domestic family scenes (Interiors and garden), landscape, cityscape and portraiture.
Andrew produces work which is heavily rooted in observation. The Artist thrives on the act of looking, analysing and trying to understand the world around him.

I have exhibited in London at various galleries  including   Bankside, The National Open Art Competition and Dulwich Picture Gallery . . I was chosen for an exhibition at Four Corners Gallery "Showcasing a dynamic range of the finest current student work from across the University of the Arts London's six colleges".

Jackie Morris

Bath Spa University (MFA Fine Art, 2007 , 2007)

In this body of work I have re-focused on my approach to abstract painting. The main images are taken from reproductions of art historical paintings. The human figure is removed, allowing the fabric and its folds to take centre stage. I have studied both historical and contemporary art to juxtapose possible relationships between the two. In the historical context the gesture becomes figurative, however as a comment on the contemporary the figurative is manipulated to imply the gestural.

Leah Michelle

Leah’s vibrant multi-layered acrylic paintings are created with the idea of capturing the beauty that is always around us. Her primary focus is creating beautiful works of art that make viewers smile and live in the moment. Her background in Italian Renaissance Art influences her use of compositional constraints combined with loose, distinct brushstrokes to purposefully provide the viewer with a way to relate directly with the organised painted surface. It depicts the essence of how colour can be the source of beauty in itself regardless of the subject matter.

My work is an investigation into the properties of my chosen materials and the process of painting.

Artists who influence and inform my practice include; Ian Davenport, Jason Martin, Liam Gillick, Dan Flavin, Richard Wilson, Alexis Harding, Anish Kapoor and Robert Ryman.

Some of the processes used within my work are -
